About the role

 

We have exciting opportunities for experienced Electricians to join our Maintenance teams at Queensland Alumina Limited (QAL). If you enjoy tackling complex challenges and are passionate about safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement, this is a great time to join our business.

As a valued member of the QAL team, you will play a key role in supporting our Safe, Stable and Sustainable vision by:

 

  • Performing all work in accordance with site health, environmental and community policies, systems and procedures
  • Undertaking planned and reactive maintenance across a diverse range of Electrical and Instrumentation equipment, including high-voltage repairs
  • Diagnosing faults and recommending effective, long-term repair solutions
  • Developing and troubleshooting sophisticated PLC motor control systems for wharf machines and conveyor systems
  • Completing installation and maintenance activities for Hazardous Areas and Gas Systems
  • Improving plant reliability by identifying and eliminating equipment failures, while actively contributing to a strong site safety culture

 

About you

 

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

 

  • A strong commitment to safe work practices, both independently and as part of a team
  • A current Queensland Electrical Licence (Cert III in Instrumentation highly regarded)
  • Experience working in fixed plant maintenance environments
  • Active participation in safety systems and site-based initiatives
  • Sound judgement and decision-making skills to maintain plant integrity
  • Proven ability to plan, prioritise and execute work efficiently
  • The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to team outcomes
  • A proactive mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement and identifying efficiency or cost-saving opportunities
