Job Summary
St. Theodore Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Elementary Teacher to join our faith‑centered learning community. The Elementary Teacher is responsible for providing high‑quality instruction that supports students’ academic, spiritual, and personal growth while fostering a safe, engaging, and Christ‑centered classroom environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with diocesan and school curriculum standards.
- Integrate Catholic teachings, values, and traditions into daily instruction and classroom culture.
- Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and structured classroom environment.
- Assess student progress using a variety of formative and summative assessments and communicate progress with parents and guardians.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, support staff, and administration to support student success and school initiatives.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with families.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school liturgies, and events.
- Uphold school policies and actively support the mission of Catholic education.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required.
- Valid teaching certification preferred (or ability to obtain per diocesan requirements).
- Prior elementary teaching experience preferred.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to student‑centered learning and academic excellence.
- Practicing Catholic preferred; must support and respect Catholic teachings and traditions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the classroom and campus for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and manage classroom materials as needed.
Additional Expectations
- Willingness to participate actively in the spiritual life of the school community.
- Completion of required background checks and Safe Environment training in accordance with diocesan and school policies.
