Job Summary
Ste Genevieve Catholic Church, Ste Genevieve is seeking a dedicated and mission-driven Elementary Teacher to foster a nurturing, academically rigorous, and values-based learning environment. The Elementary Teacher is responsible for supporting the spiritual, intellectual, social, and emotional development of each student while delivering high-quality instruction aligned with school standards and mission. The ideal candidate promotes a positive classroom culture, integrates values into daily instruction, and works collaboratively with colleagues and families to support student success.
Job Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and school expectations.
- Deliver high-quality instruction that accommodates diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies, including differentiated instruction and technology integration.
- Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of grades, attendance, and student performance.
Student Development
- Support the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students.
- Establish high expectations for student achievement and behavior.
- Foster critical thinking, creativity, and a love of learning.
- Provide a structured and positive classroom environment that promotes respect and responsibility.
Classroom Management
- Create and maintain a safe, orderly, and engaging classroom environment.
- Implement consistent and fair discipline practices aligned with school policies.
- Promote positive behavior and strong character development.
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and support staff to enhance student learning.
- Participate in faculty meetings, school events, and professional development opportunities.
Community & Professional Responsibilities
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Support school initiatives, extracurricular activities, and community events.
- Engage in ongoing professional growth and reflective practice.
- Uphold school policies, procedures, and professional standards.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid teaching certification appropriate for elementary education (or ability to obtain).
- Experience teaching in an elementary classroom preferred.
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to integrate values, character education, and social-emotional learning into instruction.
- Proficiency in using educational technology to enhance teaching and learning.
- Commitment to the mission and values of the school.
