Starting with the role:

We are looking for an Energy Analysis & Forecasting Supervisor who will be responsible for the development and continuous improvement of energy forecasting processes, predictive models and analytical methodologies to enhance forecasting accuracy. Part of the role wiil be to monitor forecasting performance and continuously update forecasts to optimize efficiency and adapt to changing market conditions.

During your day you will:

  • Identify new data sources to improve forecast accuracy (data mining).
  • Build and maintain an evaluation framework for 3rd party forecasting providers ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and continuous enhancement of their forecasting performance.
  • Find new candidate forecasting providers.
  • Develop statistical techniques and machine learning models for aggregator (FOSE) forecasting.
  • Monitor continuously forecasting and propose regular updates to reflect market conditions and other influencing factors.
  • Partner with Energy Management, Trading, Aggregation teams to translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
  • Communicate with O&M to align the operational status of assets with forecasting declarations.
  • Be responsible for the monitoring and continuous improvement of the RES Aggregation forecasting process, including provider performance evaluation, forecast blending / weighting logic and escalation of material deviations.
  • Assess and explain forecast performance at portfolio level, linking forecast deviations to market impact, curtailments, asset availability and other operational drivers.
  • Model grid curtailment and assess its impact on energy production.

What you need to stand out:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Math or Statistics.
  • Master’s degree in related fields will be considered an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in related field.
  • Proficiency with program language PYTHON, R and SQL
  • Experience developing and deploying machine learning models
  • Experience in time series forecasting
  • Extensive experience exploring and extracting insights from multi-dimensional and varying data sets
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills both in Greek and English
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Suite (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Visio)
  • Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to synthesize and organize large amounts of data
