We are currently looking for an Energy Markets Back Office Officer, who is tasked with overseeing the entire life cycle of deals made by the Energy Management Division. This role involves validating settlements from various entities such as Power Exchanges, Transmission System Operators (TSOs), Auction Offices, and Counterparties. The Energy Markets Back Office Officer is responsible for identifying and correcting any discrepancies that arise and communicates with various internal functions and external counterparties to ensure smooth operations.

What will you do:

  • Manages the deals' lifecycle after the closing of deals. Handles contracts and makes sure payments are processed on a timely basis. Collaborates with the accounting team to allocate invoices to respective cost centers and issues invoices as needed.
  • Checks settlements from NEMOs, TSOs, Power Exchanges and Auction Offices. Communicates to correct discrepancies in settlements.
  • Calculates and cross-verifies settlements with counterparties and coordinates invoicing with the accounting department.
  • Checks past and current transactions with focus on data accuracy and maintains the ENMA records regarding deals (in excel, ETRM or other appropriate system) and data (e.g. prices).
  • Coordinates and submits compliance reports for REMIT/EMIR repositories to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Gathers data to prepare provisional reports on costs, revenues, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) for the division, including profit and loss (PnL) reports.
  • Monitors margins and guarantees across Energy Management Activities.
  • Prepares and communicates to accounting the documents for customs declarations.
  • Assists in month/year closing the accounting and controlling department.
  • Assists in cash flow planning.

What you need to be successful:

  • A BSc in Business, Economics, Natural Sciences or relevant discipline

  • At least 1 year of administrative working experience, preferably in relevant sector/area

  • Good understanding of energy business, finance and technical subjects

  • Excellent knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken)

  • Attention to detail

  • Very good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Very good organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly

  • Ability to effectively deal with and respond to high volumes of emails

  • Team player who can also work independently
