The impact you’ll make

At Lam, as an Engineering Technician, you play a crucial role in supporting lab operation activities specifically related to Microscopy. Interfacing with vendors, performing calibrations and troubleshooting and helping install and move tools in tha lab are just some of your responsibilities.  Referencing schematics, diagrams, and descriptions, you conduct testing and troubleshooting. You'll perform fault isolation and assist in determining methods to remedy malfunctions. Your commitment to precision and problem-solving enhances Lam's comittment to agility in the demo lab.

What you’ll do

• Perform testing, check-out, and troubleshooting using schematics, diagrams, descriptions, layouts, or defined plans.
• Tests and troubleshoots system level problems in electrical and mechanical systems and sub-systems of microscopy tools.
• Interface with vendors that supply metrology and micrscopy equipement and assist them in troubleshooting..
• Some basic training of lab users on how to use equipment in lab.
• Support the install and relocation of microscopy tools.
• Support the organiztion of lab and general lab upkeep..
• Collaborates with development engineers conducting engineering tests to collect design data or support in research efforts.

Who we’re looking for

• 2-4 years of related work experience.
• Firsthand experience with installation, maintenance, repair, testing, or troubleshooting of equipment or electronics.
• Effective communication skills, written and verbal, in English.
• Proficient in utilizing computer-based data systems, applications, and Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to work a shift schedule.

Preferred qualifications

• Associates degree, Technical Certificate, Diploma or higher in a technical field.
• Experience in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, bioengineering, metrology, lab operations, or related areas.
• Experience in semiconductor experience is a plus.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

Salary

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $23.56 -  $46.63.

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
