Project Overview:

Bechtel is pursuing an exciting new pumped storage hydropower project in Serbia. This project will help to provide carbon free energy storage capacity as part of an overall energy transition strategy in the region.

Job Summary:

In support of our plans to further develop this project, the FEED Coordinator will participate in all stages of the FEED, including conceptual design, FEED design, environmental assessments, planning approvals, construction and project execution planning.

The FEED Coordinator will support the Project Engineering Manager in overseeing and coordinating all FEED workstreams to achieve FEED objectives, in particular an integrated quality work product and FEED schedule management. The FEED coordinator will contribute to technical studies, value engineering, constructability, cost development and strategic planning for the project. Reports to the Project Engineering Manager.

Major Responsibilities:

Provides coordination oversight of all FEED activities on the Project.
Working with the workstream Managers and Engineers to ensure that the designers and consultant teams are in communication and collaborating with each other.
Establishes work processes for coordination and interface control, including ICDs, technical reviews and multidiscipline coordination meetings as required.
Manage the planning process including oversight of urban design consultant.
Coordinate the work of Bechtel home office staff, including off-project SMEs.
Participate in the construction and execution planning processes. Coordinate the work of construction SMEs to make sure constructability considerations are reflected in the design and that construction plans are accurately captured in the EPC schedule and estimate.
Act as the technical representative for consultants’ contracts supporting Supply Chain in the administration of the contract.
Coordinate development and monitoring of FEED schedules with consultants and project teams.
Coordinate and contribute to the project monthly reporting to Bechtel and Customer
Coordinates technical scope with Construction and Procurement Functions.
Support with the planning, packaging of scope for subcontract procurement
This is a visible project position, with exposure to customer, JV partners and GBU leadership

Education and Experience Requirements:

BSc / MSc / BEng / MEng Degree in Geotechnical, Civil, Hydraulic, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 12 to 15 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Experience of project development activities, such as design development, feasibility studies, and assessments.
Working knowledge of project scheduling, project controls and reporting processes.
Knowledge of subcontract / subconsultant management and administration.
Specific areas of experience would be viewed positively:
Support to procurement including developing technical specifications, tender evaluations.
Interface control between interfacing designers and consultants
Experience of planning process and environmental assessments
Engineering/construction experience including civil structures, dams, tunnels, generation plant or pump houses.
Stakeholder communication and management.
Experience with design and integration of M&E equipment.
