THE OPPORTUNITY

The Finance Lead is accountable for the effective coordination and delivery of financial operations, partner financial management, and finance support for the country program.  The role ensures that financial processes, reporting, and controls are accurate, compliant, and timely, while acting as the primary finance focal point for program teams and partners to support effective program delivery and decision-making.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Finance Lead will own the outcomes of:

  1. Financial Operations & Controls:  Lead the day-to-day financial operations, including payments, reconciliations, and financial records. You’ll ensure transactions are accurate, compliant with internal policies and Indonesian regulations, and supported by clear, audit-ready documentation.
  2. Program Finance & Business Partnering: Work closely with program teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and expenditure tracking. You’ll provide timely financial insights, flag variances and risks early, and help teams make informed decisions to keep programs on track.
  3. Partner Financial Management: Coordinate financial management of implementing partners, including fund disbursements, acquittals, and documentation. You’ll ensure compliance with donor and organisational requirements and follow up on any issues to maintain strong financial accountability.
  4. Reporting, Audit & Process Improvement: Prepare financial inputs for internal and donor reporting, and support internal and external audits by ensuring complete and well-organised records. You’ll also identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and controls to strengthen overall efficiency.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Around 4–6 years’ experience in finance, ideally in an INGO or development setting

  • Strong understanding of:

    • Financial operations and controls
    • Budgeting and cash flow management
    • Donor/grant financial reporting
  • Working knowledge of Indonesian financial regulations and compliance requirements

  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems

  • Ability to work across teams and cultures

  • Clear and practical communication skills in English.
