Maintenance fitter
One (1) Day Shift (7:30AM-4:00PM)
We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Fitter to join our team and play a key role in keeping our production lines running safely, efficiently, and reliably.
What You’ll Do:
- Execute maintenance work orders with accuracy and on time (including reporting, time confirmations, and close-out)
- Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving food processing, utilities and packaging equipment.
- Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. and all activities comply with food safety, quality, health and safety, and environmental standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using the site's CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System).
- Manage parts correctly and follow proper store procedures
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
- Conduct root cause analysis on recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
Drive Continuous Improvement:
- Actively contribute to TPM and continuous improvement initiatives (5S, breakdown analysis, etc.)
- Work closely with operators to build equipment care and reliability knowledge
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing maintenance costs and increasing equipment availability.
- Assist with installation, commissioning, and modification of machinery and equipment.
What You’ll Bring:
- Trade qualification with strong maintenance experience in a food manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Experience with SAP PM or similar maintenance systems
- A proactive mindset with a focus on safety, quality, and results
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with automated production and packaging equipment.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge.
- Welding and fabrication skills.
