Location: Penrose Branch

About Us

Post Haste Group is a successful part of the Freightways group of companies and has experienced strong, sustained growth in recent years. We pride ourselves on our “can-do” culture, where our people are supported and encouraged to perform at their best.

The Opportunity

As our Freight Office Team Leader, you will be responsible for the efficient direction and day-to-day management of the Freight Office, leading and supporting a small team.

You’ll be the first point of contact for our customers—both over the phone and in person—handling enquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring freight is processed accurately and efficiently. This is a hands-on role that combines leadership, customer service, and operational coordination.

Please note: this role includes occasional heavy lifting, so a good level of physical fitness is required.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and support a team of Freight Officers
  • Oversee the efficient processing, scanning, and data entry of undeliverable freight
  • Assess, process, and manage damaged freight, including customer notifications
  • Deliver exceptional customer service across phone and face-to-face interactions
  • Respond to customer enquiries promptly, providing effective solutions
  • Work closely with drivers and internal teams to ensure a seamless customer experience

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to lead or supervise a small team
  • Good computer skills and confidence using office systems
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Why Join Us?

  • Ongoing training, support, and career development opportunities
  • Supportive team environment with a strong performance culture
  • Opportunity to take ownership and make a real impact

All applicants will be required to provide proof of their eligibility to work in New Zealand and undertake pre-employment checks.

If you apply for a role internally and are invited to interview – standard practice will see the recruiting manager, contact the current manager as a courtesy.

If you think you are up for the challenge, and think you have what it takes to join our team, send through your CV and application to:
