Job Title: Full‑Time Middle School Science Teacher - 5th Grade Homeroom
Location: Immacolata Catholic Church

Position Summary

Immacolata Catholic Church is seeking a dedicated and mission‑driven Full‑Time Middle School Science Teacher to join our faculty for the upcoming school year. The teacher will provide rigorous, developmentally appropriate science instruction to students in grades 6–8 while supporting the Catholic identity and educational mission of the Academy. The ideal candidate fosters a learning environment that encourages inquiry, critical thinking, and academic excellence, and collaborates effectively with colleagues, administrators, and families.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high‑quality science instruction aligned with Archdiocesan and school curriculum standards.
  • Design and implement hands‑on labs, demonstrations, and project‑based learning experiences that promote scientific inquiry.
  • Establish a classroom environment that supports active learning, respect, and student engagement.
  • Utilize a variety of assessment methods to monitor student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
  • Integrate technology and digital tools to enhance instruction and support student learning.
  • Maintain accurate records, including lesson plans, grades, and communication with families.
  • Collaborate with the middle school team on curriculum development, interdisciplinary projects, and school initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators to support student success.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and schoolwide events.
  • Model and uphold the values of Catholic education and contribute to the spiritual life of the school community.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related science field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Valid Missouri teaching certification or eligibility for certification.
  • Experience teaching middle school students or working with adolescents.
  • Strong understanding of inquiry‑based instruction, lab safety, and adolescent development.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and classroom‑management skills.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.

The successful candidate demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and a collaborative spirit. A strong desire to support students’ academic, social, and spiritual growth is essential. The teacher should exhibit enthusiasm for science education and a willingness to contribute positively to the broader school community.
