The Process SME is embedded within Operations and acts as the key interface between operational teams and Continuous Improvement (CI). The role ensures that process improvements are practical, sustainable, and aligned with operational realities. By combining deep process expertise with a continuous improvement mindset, the SME bridges the gap between process execution and process enhancement.

Job Requirements

  • Maintain minimum of 20% of SME FTE dedicated to complex operational responsibilities to keep up with the TE process specific towards further expertise growth and proper knowledge application
  • General Accounting expert role - Responsible for proper and timely advisory on non-routine activities, unexpected events, closing issues, etc.
  • Govern EMEA period-end close execution, ensuring completion of all required close controls and checks
  • Revise and expand existing best practices in processes
  • Support mergers & acquisitions or divestitures in scope
  • Support on due diligence and ERP system setup for existing and new entities in the context of S4 Hana implementation
  • Monitor process health and proactively identify issues
  • Support audit readiness and risk mitigation
  • Maintain and support process documentation
  • Contribute to regional/global standardization efforts
  • Identify and drive smaller size improvement initiatives
  • Support CI projects with subject matter expertise for bigger and strategic projects
  • Ensure improvements are embedded and sustained in operations (ambassador of the change)
  • Support implementation of new or changed accounting standards
  • Drive R2R projects with emphasis on financial reporting and quality assurance
  • Coordinate R2R monthly financial risk metrics with focus on process improvements
  • Identify dependencies of Business Unit activities that impact Controlling operations, to strengthen process knowledge and enhance understanding within FSC R2R teams
  • Participate in operational reviews, KPI tracking, and governance forums
  • Provide an interface with other R2R SMEs across regions and share best practices
  • Act as bridge between R2R and other functions
  • Cooperate with Leadership Team on day-to-day activities
  • Develop and coach Finance Teams to read and scrutinize the financial statements properly (workshops, training sessions arrangements, etc.)

Your ideal background

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance / Accounting
  • Min. 5 years of experience in Record to Report in various processes: GL accounting & month-end close, Account reconciliation, Intercompany, Fixed assets & CAPEX accounting, Accruals, provisions, deferrals
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP S4/HANA would be an asset)
  • Hands-on experience with MS Office package (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Solid understanding of R2R tools and solutions such as HFM, BlackLine, Trintech, AICO, or similar
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills

  • Detailed orientation and self-discipline skills
  • Proficiency in Polish and English
