About the Role

The graduate manufacturing engineering is responsible for supporting project engineering department and technical engineering in designs, developments and improvement to our remanufacturing process and for providing engineering solutions to translate industrial capabilities into strategic business cases, driving process improvements and innovation to ensure efficiencies, waste reductions and high-quality remanufacturing. This role will provide Drafting, CAD modelling and engineering analysis with high standard of due-diligence and technical merits. This role will actively participate in value stream mapping and process optimization studies led by other engineering discipline. 

Competencies

Develop, design, manufacture and commission remanufacturing special purpose stands, jigs and fixtures in accordance with relevant Australian Design Rules and Australian Standards.

Engineering analysis and validation involving mechanical design review, stress analysis, mathematical modelling and Finite Element Analysis

Assist and support in develop, introduction and integration of new manufacturing technologies, tools, and methodologies into production workflows.

Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, production team, and cross-functional teams to align manufacturing processes with technical and project requirements

Propose and instigate continuous improvement projects aiming at Identifying opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and product quality by analysing use of hardware, labour utilisation, space requirement and layout across operations in the plant

Personal (i.e. individual’s) health and safety performance and behaviour and that your acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of others

Compliance with Quality Assurance (QA) and Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) Policy and Procedures. 

Alerting the organisation of potential or known problems that affect the quality of LAS products and services

Initiate recommendations for improvement of the organisation’s policies and processes

Other duties as directed

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated verbal communication skills and report writing skills.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience in 3D modelling software, experience with modelling packages such as SolidWorks

Preferred

Prior experience or involvement in automotive industries, mining industries or heavy machinery industries is highly regarded.
