Head of the Centre for Developmental Disability Health (CDDH)

Lead a state-wide service. Drive system change. Improve lives.

About the Service

CDDH is a recognised leader in the field, delivering innovative models of care that build the capability of mainstream health services.

The service operates across three core pillars:

  • Clinical services – including secondary medical consultations and procedural sedation
  • Education – developing workforce capability across the system
  • Research & innovation – advancing best practice and improving outcomes

CDDH also leads key initiatives such as the Disability Liaison Officer Program and contributes to national reform through committee representation and sector engagement.

About the role

This is a rare and impactful senior leadership opportunity to lead the Centre for Developmental Disability Health (CDDH)—a state-wide, multidisciplinary service dedicated to improving healthcare outcomes for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

As Head of CDDH, you will provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership across the centre’s integrated service model—spanning clinical care, education, research, and system-wide advocacy.

You will lead a highly skilled multidisciplinary workforce and play a critical role in shaping inclusive, accessible healthcare across Monash Health and the broader Victorian health system.

About You

You are a values-led, strategic leader with a strong clinical or health service background and a passion for improving care for people with disabilities.

You bring:

    • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary healthcare teams at a senior level
    • Strong operational and strategic capability, with the ability to drive service delivery and system improvement
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across complex environments
    • A deep understanding of the disability sector, including NDIS, policy frameworks, and community-based care models

You are comfortable operating at both a strategic and operational level—able to lead people, manage complexity, and drive meaningful outcomes.

What You Need

  • Relevant health professional qualification with current registration (if applicable)
  • Postgraduate qualification (or working towards) in health, leadership, business or management
  • Demonstrated experience in senior leadership within healthcare or disability services
  • Strong understanding of disability policy, frameworks and service systems

Highly Regarded

  • Experience leading research or innovation initiatives
  • Experience in policy development and system-level improvement
  • Experience representing organisations at external or national forums

Why join Monash Health?

This is more than a leadership role—it’s an opportunity to shape how healthcare is delivered for some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

At Monash Health, you will:

  • Lead a state-wide service with real impact
  • Work within a values-driven, purpose-led organisation
  • Be part of a connected network of clinical, academic and system leaders
  • Help drive innovation, inclusion and better health outcomes

We offer:

  • The opportunity to make a real impact on patient experience
  • supportive, collaborative team environment
  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities
  • The chance to be part of Victoria’s largest public health service
