The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Health, Safety & Logistics Officer to join our Open Space and Trees Department within the Place and Spaces Directorate. Based primarily at the Kew Depot and working across multiple Council locations, this role plays a critical part in ensuring our depot environments are safe, compliant and operating efficiently. You will be a trusted advisor to leaders and staff, providing practical health and safety guidance while overseeing logistics and site operations.
Key Responsibilities
In this role you will act as a central point of contact for depot operations, managing logistics, contractor interactions and site safety. You will support and implement Council’s health, safety and wellbeing systems, interpret and apply relevant legislation, coordinate risk management activities and respond to safety incidents. You will also work closely with managers, staff and contractors to promote safe work practices, deliver effective inductions and ensure training and compliance obligations are met.
About You
You are a proactive and confident professional with experience in health and safety, site or depot management and stakeholder engagement. You bring sound knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, strong communication skills and the ability to influence positive safety culture. You enjoy working collaboratively, managing competing priorities and delivering practical solutions that support safe and efficient operations.

Employment Requirements
Applicants must hold unrestricted working rights in Australia, and those progressing through the selection process will need to complete a National Police Record Check and may also require a Working with Children check.
