SunRice is a great place to work, providing a real opportunity for passionate people to make a difference.
About the role
We’re seeking a Human Rights and Responsible Supply Chain Coordinator to join our Sustainability Team and play a hands‑on role in strengthening ethical practices across our global operations and supply chain.
In this role, you’ll support the coordination of social and ethical audits, contribute to modern slavery reporting, and work closely with internal teams, suppliers and third‑party auditors to help identify, mitigate and report on human rights-related risks. You’ll be supported by an experienced Human Rights Manager and be part of a collaborative team that values learning, continuous improvement and practical outcomes.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about human rights, enjoys working with people, data and processes, and is looking to build a long‑term career in responsible sourcing and sustainability.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Partnering with sites, Group functions and auditors to plan and coordinate social and ethical audits (such as SMETA/SEDEX), helping everyone feel prepared and supported throughout the process.
- Working alongside people across our business to turn audit findings into practical corrective actions, including tracking progress through to completion.
- Supporting the training of employees and suppliers in matters relating to human rights.
- Conducting supplier due diligence activities, including reviewing questionnaires and audit reports, and carrying out desktop research to help identify and manage human rights-related risks.
- Gathering, validating and sense‑checking data for the Group’s Modern Slavery Statement and other sustainability disclosures.
- Coordinating internal working groups to drive uplift in supplier performance relating to human rights.
- Helping bring data to life through clear reporting, dashboards and summaries that show where we’re progressing and where we need to focus.
- Looking for better ways of working and embedding sustainability considerations into business activities by improving processes, leveraging systems and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Being a collaborative team player, supporting broader human rights and sustainability initiatives across SunRice.
About You
You’re organised, curious, a good communicator and motivated by making a positive impact. You enjoy working across teams, are comfortable building and improving processes, and you are keen to deepen your knowledge of human rights, ethical sourcing and responsible supply chains.
You will bring:
- You communicate clearly and confidently, bringing people along with you and building trust and positive relationships with a wide range of internal teams, suppliers and external partners.
- You bring a practical, process‑minded approach, staying organised, managing competing priorities and delivering quality outcomes on time.
- You’re comfortable working in the detail, with an eye for accuracy when handling audits, documentation and data verification.
- You’re confident working with data, proficient in Excel and the ability to turn complex information into clear, meaningful stories that support action and decision‑making.
- You bring curiosity, openness and a genuine desire to learn, with a passion for growing your career in sustainability, human rights and responsible supply chains.
Experience in social and ethical auditing, supplier due diligence and/or modern slavery reporting is desirable, but we’re especially interested in candidates who bring curiosity, commitment and a willingness to develop their expertise in this space.
