Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Support Intern

The International Water Management Institute (IWMI), a CGIAR Research Center, is seeking applications from enthusiastic students who are looking to gain professional experience in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) under IWMI’s internship program. The internship will be based at IWMI’s headquarters in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Scope of internship During this internship, the ICT support intern will report to the Head of ICT. The intern will provide efficient and effective technical support services, which involve handling helpdesk inquiries and resolving first-level IT issues to ensure the smooth operation of IT systems within the organization. If the selected candidate demonstrates an ability to assist in existing support processes, they will develop a general understanding of the role of ICT, and gain exposure to working in a multicultural and multidisciplinary international organization. During this internship, the intern will assist in the following areas: • Organizing and responding to helpdesk tickets in a timely and professional manner. • Providing first-level support for IT issues including software, hardware and network problems. • Collaborating with IT team members to solve complex issues. • Assisting in implementing IT projects and upgrades. • Providing support in setting up new equipment.
