Bank of Jordan is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to join our credit control & processing team as Head of Internal Control Unit-CIB. This role is responsible for leading the internal control activities within Credit Control and Processing operations, ensuring that all corporate, financial institutions, and leasing credit transactions are executed accurately, in full compliance with approved credit decisions, internal policies, procedures, and delegated authorities. The role provides hands‑on leadership and control ownership over credit execution processes, post‑approval validation, and system integrity, while managing a team of Internal Control Officers. The position plays a critical role in mitigating operational and credit risks, supporting audit readiness, and strengthening governance across wholesale banking credit operations. Responsibilities• Lead and manage the Internal Control Unit within CIB Credit Control & Processing. • Oversee pre‑ and post‑execution control of credit transactions to ensure alignment with approved credit terms, conditions, and delegated authorities. • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and validity of credit processing requests related to limits, facilities, collateral, utilization, settlements, amendments, and manual entries. • Monitor and validate system‑executed transactions to detect and address errors, omissions, or unauthorized movements. • Perform sample‑based internal audit reviews of executed transactions and unit outputs to ensure adherence to approved procedures. • Coordinate closely with Credit Documentation, Corporate Customer Service, Business Development, Credit Follow‑up, Finance, and IT to ensure smooth and controlled execution workflows. • Review internal and external audit observations related to credit execution and internal controls and lead timely and effective remediation actions. • Escalate material control breaches, operational risks, or policy deviations to management with clear root‑cause analysis and corrective recommendations. • Contribute to the enhancement of credit execution procedures, internal control mechanisms, and system improvements.
