Overall Purpose of the Job

The Inventory Specialist supports efficient warehouse operations by accurately receiving, organizing, storing, retrieving, and shipping inventory. This role ensures inventory accuracy, maintains organized storage systems, and upholds company standards for safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. This position plays a key role in maintaining operational flow and delivering a positive customer experience through accurate and timely order fulfilment.

Key Activities and Accountabilities

1. Organise the operation and security of the inventory. Unbox, label, and store inventory in designated warehouse locations. Organize stock on shelving, bins, etc. according to company and safety standards.

2. Liaise with the Operations department and workshop supervisor with regard to activity levels and demands for operational equipment to ensure allocated inventory is in place.

3. Verify incoming shipments by comparing invoices to purchase orders. Inspect goods to ensure items are accurate, undamaged, and in excellent condition. Report discrepancies, missing items, or damaged goods to management promptly.

4. Update the computerised stock control system daily showing transactions used to maintain a cost effective level.

5. Undertake weekly stock checks. Accurately maintain inventory records within company databases and spreadsheet systems.

6. Ensure the requisitioning of spares and consumables on a daily basis to maintain inventory stock levels is actioned. Monitor stock levels and report lost or missing inventory. Provide management with accurate reports of goods received and shipped.

7. Support timely and accurate shipment of customer orders. Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts (if certified). Collaborate with team members to maintain efficient workflow and optimal productivity level.

8. Participate and attend regular meetings to discuss operational/inventory issues. Liaise with internal and external departments as and when required to ensure all questions and queries are resolved and liaise with manager on any concerns.

9. Ensure general housekeeping is at a high standard for a safe, clean working environment and that COSHH (control of substances hazardous to health) regulations are observed in the area.

10.    Lead stock counts as required by internal audit team and/or per company policy.  Working closely with Regional inventory management team.
12.    Actively comply with all company policies, including but not limited to Quality policies, procedures, processes and systems, the Code of Conduct and Anti-Bribery policies,  ensuring the highest ethical standards are maintained and exposure to liability or risk to Expro’s reputation is minimised. If necessary, report possible violations or conflicts of interest.
13.    Identify and report any deficiencies to supervisor and obtain documented authorisation for any deviations from standard procedures.
14.    Promote QHSE awareness; take responsibility and be accountable for own safety and safety of others. Demonstrate the personal application of QHSE procedures in daily performance and always follow the 12 Safety House Rules.
15.    Ensure objectives set under Employee Development Plan are met.

Job Knowledge and Qualifications

1. 3+ years previous inventory operations experience preferred.

2. Knowledge of SAP or similar software package preferred.

3. Previous experience in a warehouse or fast-paced operational environment preferred.
4. Experience with Microsoft Excel and company inventory/spreadsheet systems required.
5. Forklift certification and experience strongly preferred.
6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.
7. Ability to problem-solve quickly and prioritize tasks effectively.
8. Solid typing and data entry skills and ability to communicate effectively in English (read/write/speak). 
9. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

10. Satisfactory results of pre-employment screening (ie background check and drug/alcohol test).
