Job Summary

St. Louis Catholic Academy is seeking a passionate and faith-filled K–8 Music Teacher to inspire students through music education while fostering an appreciation for liturgical and cultural music traditions. The ideal candidate will create an engaging and structured environment that nurtures students’ musical abilities and supports the mission of Catholic education.

Job Responsibilities

● Plan and deliver music instruction for students in Kindergarten through 8th Grade.
● Develop and implement a music curriculum that includes vocal performance, rhythm, music theory, and basic instrumental instruction.
● Integrate Catholic liturgical music and prepare students for participation in school Masses and prayer services.
● Organize and direct student performances, concerts, and school music events.
● Foster an inclusive and positive classroom environment that encourages creativity and participation.
● Manage classroom behavior and maintain expectations appropriate for all grade levels.
● Collaborate with faculty and staff to support school programs and events.
● Maintain and organize music supplies, instruments, and equipment.

Job Requirements

● Bachelor’s degree in music education or a related field preferred.
● Teaching experience in music, preferably in a school setting.
● Strong knowledge of vocal and/or instrumental music instruction.
● Ability to work with students across a wide range of grade levels.
● Strong classroom management and communication skills.
● Willingness to support the mission and values of Catholic education.
