Our portfolio includes iconic brands such as St Hugo, Petaluma, Hardys, Grant Burge, Jacobs Creek and Campo Viejo, supported by a strong premium and growth portfolio that performs exceptionally well in the On‑Premise channel.
Sydney is our largest and most important on‑premise market, and we are continuing to invest in it's growth.
About The Role
We are looking for a high‑energy, hands‑on, field‑based Key Account Executive who loves wine, building relationships and driving growth.
Based in Sydney, this wine‑led sales role is newly created to support accelerated on‑premise growth in our most important market. The role has a dual focus:
- managing and growing a portfolio of smaller on‑premise groups and independent venues and
- winning new on‑premise business
You will be responsible for opening new doors, building sustainable listings, and developing long‑term relationships with sommeliers and venue operators, helping grow rate of sale and portfolio penetration over time.
This role suits someone who enjoys the chase, but also takes pride in owning and nurturing accounts once they’re won.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and win new on‑premise customers across Sydney
- Own and manage a portfolio of smaller on‑premise groups and independent venues, building depth over time
- Target restaurants, bars, wine venues and hospitality groups, including city‑based restaurant groups
- Build new listings, by‑the‑glass placements and rate of sale across managed accounts
- Deliver venue‑level execution including tastings, staff training and wine education
- Build strong, credible relationships with sommeliers, venue owners and bar managers
- Support broader on‑premise growth by collaborating with Key Account Managers on activations, menu placements and portfolio expansion
- Maintain disciplined territory planning, pipeline management and follow‑up
About Your Experience
You’re a proactive, resilient self‑starter who enjoys being in market and building momentum through relationships.
You’ll bring:
- 1–3 years’ experience selling into Sydney on‑premise venues (restaurants, bars or wine venues)
- Strong wine knowledge and the ability to credibly engage sommeliers
- WSET Level 2 or 3 preferred
- Experience both opening new accounts and managing smaller venue or group relationships
- Proven ability to drive listings, volume and rate of sale
- Strong prospecting, selling and relationship‑building skills
- High energy, organisation and a solutions‑focused mindset
- A genuine passion for wine and the on‑premise channel
This role may also suit sommeliers or senior hospitality professionals looking to move into a commercial wine role with more regular hours and ownership of their own patch.
