Eaton is looking for 

a mechanical engineer 

 

This position will be located in our plant in Suchdol nad Luznici (electrical sector – enclosures/power distribution components) 

 

 

Job profile:

 

The LVSA Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the mechanical design, integration, and manufacturability of Low voltage electrical assemblies. This role ensures that all customer requirements, safety standards, and production constraints are translated into accurate and optimized mechanical design packages. The Mechanical Engineer collaborates closely with Electrical Engineers, System Engineers, Advanced Manufacturing Engineers, and Project Managers to ensure on-time delivery, compliance, and seamless execution on the shop floor.    

Design & Development

 

  • Design mechanical layouts, assemblies, and enclosure configurations for LVSA products.
  • Design the Engineer to Order mechanical parts for LVSA
  • Develop 2D/3D models (enclosures, mounting plates, busbar support structures, cutouts) using CAD tools.
  • Prepare fabrication drawings, drilling/cutout plans, and wiring routing channels.
  • Maintain and release mechanical BOMs into ERP system.
  • Ensure compatibility between mechanical components and electrical architecture
  • Manufacturing Support
  • Apply Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) principles during engineering phase.
  • Support production teams by resolving build issues, providing redline updates, and clarifying design intent.
  • Define mechanical fixtures and assembly methods in collaboration with Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
  • Quality, Compliance
  • Ensure mechanical designs comply with IEC standards related to LV switchgear, Internal safety and quality rules
  • Support FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) for mechanical compliance.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective design actions when defects are found

 

Process & Continuous Improvement

 

  • Identify cost-out opportunities via material reduction, process simplification, or standardized component usage.
  • Contribute to design template libraries and lessons learned
  • Provide mechanical expertise during customer technical clarifications"

We would like you to bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree / High school in Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • 3+ years experience in mechanical design for LV switchgear, industrial panels, or metal enclosure manufacturing

  • Czech language mandatory

  • Fabrication processes knowledge (sheet metal, welding, powder coating)"

  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or equivalent).

  • Familiarity with ERP/PLM systems (SAP).

  • Understanding of electrical integration in mechanical structures (mounting clearances, heat management, wiring access).

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings (advantage)"

  • Strong mechanical problem-solving ability.

  • Cross-functional communication and teamwork.

  • Structured documentation and revision control.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects under time pressure.

  • Focus on precision, safety, and manufacturability
