About the Role:
The States of Guernsey are looking for an experienced Lecturer to teach and coordinate the supported Traineeship programme within the Foundation Learning Dept at The Guernsey Institute. The Lecturer will plan, prepare and provide; high-quality, differentiated, teaching, learning and assessment, with a coordination responsibility for the traineeship working with various partner agencies. The traineeship will provide tailored learning packages for young adults (aged 19-25) with special educational needs to deliver pathways to employment or supported employment. The post holder will work within The Guernsey Institute, but in partnership with various other organisations and stakeholders, such as States of Guernsey departments and third-sector organizations, to enable individualized pathways to meet learner aspirations and needs. We require a dynamic and enthusiastic lecturer to inspire students and be part of a supportive and forward-thinking organisation.
The post holder will be expected to plan and deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment within their specialist technical/vocational area, monitoring student progress. The postholder will inspire and challenge learners to develop confidence, and work towards expertise, craftsmanship, and mastery of technical requirements while modelling the professional behaviours and attributes and wider skills required in the workplace and for student’s future development.

For candidates who would be required to relocate to the Bailiwick of Guernsey, we also offer a relocation package to help with the cost of moving over to the Island. This relocation package offers different solutions depending on an individual’s circumstances.

This role offers off-Island candidates an 8-year Long Term Employment Permit (see details below). This permit will also enable candidates to bring immediate family members with them who will be permitted to work on the Island in any sector. There are also good schools on Island for those candidates looking to bring their families with them.
