Legal Counsel - Libyan Law Specialist

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Legal Counsel with expertise in Libyan law to join our legal team in Tunis, Tunisia. The successful candidate will play a key role in advising on legal matters involving Libyan jurisdictions, supporting cross-border operations, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This role requires deep knowledge of the Libyan legal system, high professional standards, and a strong ability to operate in a multi-jurisdictional and multicultural environment. Responsibilities • Provide accurate and timely legal advice on matters governed by Libyan law, including civil, commercial, administrative, and labor law. • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal instruments such as contracts, MoUs, joint venture agreements, partnership agreements, and compliance documentation. • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments in Libya, interpret their implications, and advise internal stakeholders accordingly. • Liaise effectively between Tunis-based operations and Libyan clients, authorities, and counterparties, ensuring transparent and culturally appropriate communication. • Support interactions with Libyan ministries, regulatory authorities, licensing bodies, and legal institutions. • Assist in mitigating legal risks, managing disputes, and supporting internal compliance processes aligned with both Libyan and Tunisian regulations. • Contribute to internal training and awareness sessions related to Libyan legal frameworks.
