Job Role & Responsibilities
Role: PPC Manager – Manufacturing Operations (2W EV)
Operational Responsibilities:
• Lead production planning, scheduling, and material availability to meet daily and monthly production targets for 2W EV production.
• Plan and regulate product mix using Runner–Repeater–Stranger logic and share rolling production plans with stakeholders.
• Ensure smooth material flow from suppliers to point‑of‑use while maintaining optimum inventory levels.
• Develop long‑term demand and capacity planning models aligned with supplier capability and EV ramp‑up plans.
• Manage BOM accuracy and material consumption for correct accounting, especially in engineering‑intensive EV programs.
• Identify supply chain risks (domestic/global, internal/external) and execute mitigation plans for critical EV parts.
Cross‑Functional & Change Management:
• Coordinate with Purchase, Production, Engineering, Program Management, Quality, ME, and Finance for execution of EV production plans.
• Support new model introduction, pilot builds, SOP ramp‑ups, and engineering changes for 2W EV platforms with zero non‑moving inventory.
• Track and implement ECR/ECN as per defined timelines, ensuring controlled phase‑in / phase‑out of parts.
Inventory, Cost & Commercial Control:
• Minimize excess, obsolete, and slow‑moving inventory, with focus on high‑value EV components.
• Ensure PPC financial indices are within targets through adherence to SOPs and discipline.
• Coordinate with Purchase and Finance for PO releases, logistics, and commercial resolution.
• Drive initiatives for reduction in component, logistics, packaging, and transportation cost.
Digitalization & Process Improvement:
• Utilize SAP ERP (MM/PP) for material planning and execution.
• Implement JIT, E‑Kanban, Milk‑run logistics, and inventory optimization practices suited for low‑volume / high‑variant EV production.
• Drive digitalization and automation initiatives (Industry 4.0, IoT‑based planning tools) in PPC processes.
• Benchmark material planning practices with industry best standards and implement improvements.
Stores & Vendor Management:
• Oversee store operations and ensure timely material availability at line‑side.
• Conduct PIV for plant and vendor parts and ensure timely rejection disposal.
• Drive supplier delivery performance and continuous improvement initiatives, including EV supplier readiness.
EV‑Specific PPC Responsibilities (2W EV):
• Manage material planning complexities of EV programs such as frequent engineering changes, short lifecycle parts, and localization transitions.
• Plan and control materials for EV‑specific assemblies interfacing with battery, power electronics, and thermal systems (non‑cell parts).
• Coordinate closely with new‑age and developing EV suppliers to support capacity ramp‑up and process stabilization.
• Ensure material readiness for regulatory and homologation‑driven changes impacting 2W EV models.
