What you’ll do

 

As a Machine Operator Lead Hand, you’ll be at the heart of operations - right on the floor where materials take shape. 

Your day-to-day:

 

  • Operate machinery while leading and supporting the production team

  • Promote a safe work environment and ensure health & safety compliance

  • Supervise production to meet quality and efficiency standards

  • Plan and coordinate work based on production schedules

  • Monitor output and adjust processes as needed

  • Follow BRCGS procedures and maintain accurate documentation

  • Complete daily shift reports

  • Build positive team relationships and address concerns promptly

  • Support health & safety initiatives and troubleshoot production issues

  • Take on additional duties as assigned by the Production Manager

 

Your strengths as a Machine Operator Lead Hand

 

You are a natural fit for this role if:

 

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and guide teams
  • Proven ability to build trust and collaborate effectively with employees and management
  • Minimum of 5 years’ of manufacturing experience in Ontario, with at least 3 years in a Machine Operator or Lead Hand role.
  • Knowledge of health and safety policies and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to drive engagement and gain buy-in for continuous improvement initiatives
