Job Purpose

 

Core Responsibilities and Key Result Areas

  • To ensure smooth coordination and implementation of the Quality Management System, Food Safety Management System, Environmental Management System and Occupational Health and Safety Management in the organization
  • To maintain all relevant and applicable documented information (Manuals, procedures (HACCP, PRPs, compliance obligation register etc.), checklists and records in line with clauses of the ISO standards
  • To plan and develop audit programme based on the organization’s processes and requirements
  • To guide the audit team to ensure compliance with audit protocols and principles
  • To verify compliance with the requirements of ISO standards during internal audits, and report audit findings to concerned stakeholders
  • To schedule and prepare the management review meeting agenda as it relates to organization’s processes
  • To communicate external (Certification/Surveillance) audit findings, trend analysis and result of evaluation of data derived to line manager as input for management review meetings
  • To provide support to stores in identifying root cause, correction and corrective action to prevent re-occurrence of non-conformities identified during certification or surveillance audit
  • To provide support to process owners within the organization to ensure conformity to the ISO standards and requirements.
  • To ensure readiness of the organization for initial certification through gap analysis, training, awareness, availability of required documents to enable successful certification process
  • To plan second and third-party audits (Suppliers audit/ISO Certification Audit), in conjunction with the line manager.
  • To develop and review procedures and records to ensure compliance with the requirements of the ISO standards (Document control)
  • To conduct validation of CCPs and OPRPs and ensure reports of validation methodology and records are in place.
  • To evaluate and trend reports of monitoring and verification for CCPs and OPRPs
  • To evaluate established food safety objectives across the ISO certified stores

Knowledge Requirements

  • Knowledge of ISO 22000, 45000, 9001 and 14001 in relation to food industry
  • Knowledge of MS office particularly MS Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards and requirements
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance policies and procedures and Safety – Food, Fire, Occupational Health and Environment
  • Knowledge of tools (Canva or other tools for design), methods and concepts of quality assurance
  • Knowledge of data analysis skills and statistical analysis

Experience Requirements

- - Min. B.Sc./HND in Biochemistry; Food Sc & Tech; Microbiology and other related science field

Possession of any relevant certification such as FSMS certification, FSSC, QMS, EMS, OHS-MS. Certified Lead Auditor or internal auditor in any of the above-mentioned certifications is essential

Minimum of 3 - 4 years’ experience in similar role

 

Decision Expectations

  • Analyse re occurring nonconformities identified during internal and external analysis and propose effective corrective actions in conjunction with line manager
  • Maintain and issue only updated and current document to prevent use of obsolete or uncontrolled documents

 

Working Conditions

Job holder typically works 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, although some tasks involve visiting the stores for compliance and training. Job role sometimes involves weekends, field work/travelling for example during certification/surveillance/internal audits

The role requires precision and attention to detail, as it involves data analysis
