Manager - Finance Strategy and Transformation - Financial Services - Business Consulting

The Opportunity

As a Manager in Finance Strategy and Transformation, you’ll work at the intersection of finance, data and technology — helping CFOs and finance leaders modernise how finance operates, reports and supports decision making.

Our team focuses on practical finance transformation: understanding how finance works today, designing where it needs to get to, and supporting delivery across subledger, ERP, EPM and reporting solutions. The work spans business led diagnostics and target state design through to hands on support for implementation and last mile reporting.

Based in Warrang – Sydney or Naarm – Melbourne, this role offers flexibility including options for reduced hours to support your work-life balance. Let’s discuss how we can tailor this opportunity to fit your lifestyle.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with finance leadership to diagnose current state finance processes, systems and data, and design and support delivery of future state finance target operating models across source to report and planning and performance, covering processes, data, controls, governance and service delivery with a focus on automation and efficiency
  • Lead complex finance transformation workstreams end to end, translating executive intent into practical, implementation ready solutions and leveraging industry best practices to deliver measurable outcomes
  • Lead Subledger, ERP and EPM initiatives through finance functional design and requirements definition, aligning data, processes, controls and reporting to support effective system enablement
  • Lead regulatory and management reporting transformation across source to report activities, including data discovery, analysis, design, build, reporting and dashboarding, to enable timely, insight led decision making.
  • Act as the bridge between finance stakeholders, technology teams and system integrators, driving disciplined delivery through risk, dependency and trade off management, while building, coaching and developing high performing teams and lifting capability across the practice

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Background in consulting, finance transformation or in house change roles, with experience delivering finance transformation initiatives in complex environments
  • Deep understanding of end to end finance processes, operating models, data, controls and reporting
  • Hands on experience shaping or supporting Subledger, ERP and EPM initiatives, including platforms such as Aptitude, Oracle, SAP, Workday, Anaplan or similar solutions
  • Proven ability to analyse and synthesise complex finance and technology topics, comfortably bridging business and technical conversations and translating requirements into system and data design, implications, options and recommendations for senior stakeholders
  • Strong leadership presence, with confidence engaging executives and leading multi disciplinary teams, complemented by financial services experience (banking, insurance, wealth or asset management – highly regarded), tertiary qualifications in Finance or Accounting, professional certifications (CA ANZ, CPA or CIMA – advantageous), and a proactive mindset towards emerging technologies and future of finance trends

If you are ready to elevate your career by leading transformative finance initiatives and expanding your impact across a broad spectrum of clients and industries, we invite you to join us.
