Executive QA & Standards

Reporting To

Manager, QA & Standards

Position Summary

Accountable for developing, reviewing, updating, and overseeing organizational standards, manuals, and procedures to ensure alignment with internal quality requirements, regulatory obligations. To assist and support Manager, QA & Standards in ensuring caterers consistently comply with HALAL, Hygiene and HACCP requirement, service standards, procedures, processes as identified and mutually agreed in the Service Level Agreement (SLA).

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible in drafting, revising, and maintaining organizational standards, manuals, SOPs, work instructions, and other quality documents while ensuring compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and internal quality requirements.
  • Track document review cycles, revision histories, and compliance records.
  • Review, update, and revise quality documents to reflect current regulatory, accreditation, and internal requirements.
  • Coordinate with departments to create and standardize process-specific SOPs.
  • Implement and manage an effective document control system, ensuring proper versioning, approval workflows, and controlled distribution.
  • To assist in evaluating the MAGCS risk areas and provide input to the development of the Annual Audit Plan.
  • To engage with business units to investigate breakages and follow up on business units’ action plans in resolving the issues.
  • Performs audit procedures, including identifying and defining issues, developing criteria, reviewing and analysing evidence, and documenting auditees processes and procedures.
  • Identifies, develops, and documents audit issues and recommendations using independent judgement concerning areas being reviewed.
  • Assist in tender evaluation processes by conducting food safety assessments, reviewing supplier compliance, and providing input to ensure selected vendors meet Halal, HACCP, and hygiene requirements.

Qualifications and Years of Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in food science/food technology/public health/Islamic Studies, or related field.
  • Certified Halal Executive (CHE) by JAKIM or equivalent Halal related certification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in food safety, hygiene, and Halal compliance management, preferably in the airline or hospitality industry.

Skill & Knowledge

  • Knowledge of international food safety regulations (eg MOH, IATA, IFSA, WHO) and Halal requirements.

Personality Traits

  • Must be independent in conducting audit, surveillance and any direction given by superior.
  • Proactive in identifying and resolving operational issues, and capable of multitasking effectively while maintaining safety, accuracy, and professionalism at all times.

Authority

  • Executive Quality Assurance authority shall be aligned with the Corporate Approving Authority Policy (CAAP).
