Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to power a secure energy future. The Role
Reporting to the director, sustaining projects, the manager, project services plays a key leadership role in enabling consistent, high‑quality project delivery across Technical Services. This position is responsible for establishing and driving the standards, processes, systems, and controls that underpin effective project execution. Leading a team of project services professionals, you will translate business needs into scalable practices that strengthen governance, improve predictability, and support successful delivery across a diverse project portfolio.
In this role, you will:
- Drive the consistent application of planning, controls, and reporting practices in line with the Project Delivery Model.
- Oversee estimating, scheduling, and integration with cost control, ensuring alignment across all project controls.
- Build team capability and ensure alignment to functional priorities and delivery needs.
- Ensure Project Services practices meet governance, assurance, and regulatory expectations.
- Lead project intake, evaluation, classification, and setup, ensuring projects are appropriately defined, staged, governed, and configured within enterprise systems.
- Partner with systems and information teams to align project delivery needs with tools, workflows, and data structures.
- Act as a subject matter expert in Microsoft Project, Prism G2, Prism Estimating, and Prism Go.
- Identify portfolio-level trends, risks, and opportunities, and translate them into actionable improvements.
- Translate lessons learned, audit findings, and delivery challenges into continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support management reviews and strategic planning with credible insights, analysis, and recommendations.
Required:
- post‑secondary education in engineering, construction management, project management, or a related discipline;
- a minimum of eight years of progressive experience in project delivery, project controls, or delivery enablement within an industrial or project‑based environment;
- equivalent combination of education and work experience considered;
- demonstrated experience operating within governance frameworks and enterprise systems;
- strong delivery and governance mindset;
- strategic thinker with a solid understanding of execution realities; and
- effective communicator with the ability to influence across delivery teams and leadership.
Recommended:
- PMP or AACE project controls accreditation considered an asset;
- experience leading multidisciplinary teams supporting project delivery across different execution models; and
- comfortable leading in a matrixed, multi‑stakeholder environment.
