Job Overview The Maths Subject Specialist will play a critical role in executing Huddle’s Maths strategic vision through the development of various resources, such as formal and informal assessments, revision worksheets, and targeted gap-closing material. The role may evolve into a full FET teaching position as the programme expands. Responsibilities Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
• Support the implementation and analysis of baseline assessments to identify learner gaps • Develop and execute bridging content and intervention strategies to close learning gaps • Support learners in building strong foundational Maths skills • Contribute to special projects related to Maths curriculum development and learner support • Work closely with the Maths team to align bridging work with long-term GET and FET goals • Analyse learner performance data and adapt interventions accordingly • Contribute to or run remediation bootcamps and targeted support programmes • Support the development of curriculum resources where needed • Conduct user observation with learners and gather feedback to improve interventions • Maintain project documentation and learning resources • Complete work on time in line with project plans, with clear and regular communication • Assist with building tools, systems, and processes that increase the effectiveness of learner support and curriculum delivery • Apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods • Create rigorous curriculum plans that outline the objectives that need to be achieved in every lesson of the year • Plan lessons by writing scripts for videos and informal assessments that will result in engaging, effective, joyful lessons • Set thorough formal assessments that will accurately test understanding of subject matter • Review lesson plans and videos from other teachers, and collaborate on the definition of excellence
