Mechanical Design Engineer – Hygienic Process Systems at SPX FLOW, an ITT Company

Location: Brno, Czech Republic

SPX FLOW is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team supporting Dairy, Brewery, Food, and Hygienic Process projects.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on major capital projects alongside Process Engineers, Automation Engineers, Project Managers, and Sales teams — contributing to innovative process plant solutions from concept through commissioning.

About the Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will support the successful execution of engineering projects through detailed mechanical and process design activities. The role combines office-based engineering work with occasional site visits, customer support, and commissioning activities.

You will be involved in projects lasting up to 18 months and gain exposure to international engineering standards, hygienic process systems, and multidisciplinary project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs and detailed engineering drawings for hygienic process plants

• Produce:

  • Plant layouts
  • Piping layouts and isometrics
  • Foundation and fabrication drawings
  • Equipment and manufacturing drawings
  • Material take-offs and line diagrams

• Support process engineering and project execution activities

• Perform site surveys and provide on-site technical support when required

• Evaluate equipment and systems for cost-effectiveness and performance

• Prepare purchase requisitions and technical specifications

• Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, and Project Management teams

• Ensure designs meet technical, contractual, and quality requirements

• Support installation and commissioning activities when needed

What We’re Looking For

✔ Degree/HND in Mechanical, Chemical, Food Engineering, Food Technology, or related discipline
✔ Knowledge of hygienic process plant layout and piping design
✔ Experience with AutoCAD and 3D drafting software
✔ Ability to develop detailed production and installation drawings from concept designs
✔ Strong communication and teamwork skills
✔ Good time management and organizational abilities
✔ Fluent spoken and written English

Annual salary: 668,300  – 908,900  CZK, depending on experience and qualifications

Preferred Experience

• 0–2 years’ experience in Food, Beverage, Dairy, or Chemical process industries
• Understanding of hygienic process systems and plant engineering
• Exposure to manufacturing or installation environments is an advantage
