Some NZ schools have an alternative constitution that asks the Minister of Education to appoint one or more board members.

 

There is an opportunity to serve as a Ministerial Appointee at Al-Madinah School in Māngere, commencing in September 2026.

 

Ideal candidates will bring governance experience, insight, and a commitment to best practice by:

 

  • Respect and understanding of a special character school for Islamic values and principles
  • Interest in and commitment to sound financial knowledge
  • Commitment to foster strong relationships and engagement with the school community and wider stakeholders
  • Experience in effective human resource practices

 

Ministerial Appointees serve in a voluntary capacity and are entitled to the regular honorarium of $50 per meeting.
