This Darwin-based opportunity suits a capable Network Engineer with strong technical expertise focused on delivering secure, reliable, and high-performing network infrastructure.

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Networking, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 5+ years’ experience in network engineering roles supporting complex enterprise or multi-site environments
  • Proven experience designing, deploying, and supporting LAN, WAN, and cloud-based networking solutions
  • Strong hands-on experience with firewalls (Fortinet preferred), routing, switching, and VPN technologies
  • Demonstrated experience working within Zero Trust or modern security architectures (e.g. Zscaler)
  • Solid understanding of Azure networking, hybrid environments, and cloud integration with Microsoft 365
  • Practical knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, network segmentation, and compliance requirements (e.g. Essential Eight, DISP)
  • Strong capability in monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving network performance issues across distributed environments
  • Experience maintaining accurate technical documentation including network diagrams, configurations, and SOPs
  • Proven ability to work with vendors and service providers to resolve incidents and improve service outcomes
  • Highly analytical with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across ICT teams and business stakeholders
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing to broader team outcomes
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, NSE, or equivalent are highly regarded

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Design, deploy, and manage LAN, WAN, and cloud‑based network solutions aligned with business requirements
  • Maintain and support core network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, routers, and VPN environments (e.g. Fortinet, Ubiquiti)
  • Monitor network performance, proactively identify issues, and implement solutions to optimise reliability and availability
  • Implement and maintain network security controls in line with Essential Eight, DISP, and organisational requirements
  • Manage network access, segmentation, and Zero Trust principles to ensure secure and controlled environments
  • Support and maintain integration with cloud platforms including Azure and Microsoft 365
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents, working closely with internal teams and external vendors
  • Contribute to incident response and disaster recovery activities to ensure business continuity
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation including network diagrams, configurations, and SOPs
  • Collaborate with ICT team members and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and fit-for-purpose solutions
  • Support the delivery of network-related projects, system upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
