Overall Purpose of the Job

Operations Support Engineer - WT will be responsible for Expro’s operational engineering activities within the Region Operations Support team. Undertake general engineering tasks in line with Well Test Product Line Technical Support Standard and as directed by Product Line Manager.

Key Activities and Accountabilities

• Liaise with all departments (primarily Welltest) on technical matters relating to all Welltest/process kit and operation of that kit.
• Ensure all Welltest and process equipment drawings are completed in a professional manner for submission to the duty holder and that they are produced and controlled in accordance with all regulatory and statutory national procedures and Expro procedures.
• To oversee and check all Engineering calculations, drawings, technical specifications and functional specifications of all Welltest process kit.
• To perform process calculations to evaluate Welltest systems and process systems.
• To assist in the design and delivery of bespoke technical solutions to our clients.
• To identify where new products and technologies can be introduced that will enhance our equipment and business in line with all regulatory and legislative standards.
• To identify areas where equipment can be modified to improve performance and ease of operation.
• To go site location when requested to carry out Rig surveys and any other necessary Engineering/Technical inspections or reviews , or to participate as part of the Well Test Operations crew.
• Liaise with Group Engineering and PL  regarding documentation of all processing equipment manufacture and modifications.
• Ensure Operations Manager and Supervisors are kept informed of all relevant technical and process matters.  Group Engineering & Product Line to be communicated with also.
• Work to all Expro in house quality procedures; follow the departmental “design of service” procedures.
• Ensure that all changes to system designs etc are controlled and that the system to make changes is followed and adhered to at all times.
• Perform technical requests (as above) which cover design of process systems and safety related aspects of the package.
• Provide drawings as required for Bid/Proposal documents.
• Continuous improvements of engineering methods/cost savings/efficiency.
• Provide Technical advice on all aspects of Well testing operations.
• Attend and contribute to HAZOP/HAZID/Risk Assessment meetings carried out by the Clients.
• Consider the potential for harm to others or the environment that may be caused by their acts or omissions
• Work in accordance with information and training provided.
• Refrain from intentionally misusing or recklessly interfering with anything that has been provided for Health, Safety and Environment reasons
• Report any hazardous defects in plant, equipment and workplace, or shortcomings in the existing controls, to a responsible person without delay
• To Provide on call support for the Ops Support Engineering department.

Job Knowledge and Qualifications

• 5+ years experience
• Engineering Qualification
• Computer skills (MS office; Excel, Word etc., AutoCAD)
• Mechanical or Process Engineering HNC/HND or Degree.
• Sound knowledge of Welltesting systems or Hydrocarbon processing systems/techniques.
• Sound knowledge of Mathematics and complex engineering calculations.
• Sound knowledge of Oil and Gas calculation methods and equations.
• Good knowledge of Equipment manufacture, modification and fabrication techniques.
• Technology awareness.
• Good organisational/Logistical Skills.
• Self motivation.
• Good communication skills.
