Outreach Intern – Spring Semester (Habitat for Humanity)
Apply NowJob Description:: Learning Objectives By the end of the internship, the intern will be able to: · Understand and articulate the mission and work of MAHFH. · Assist with volunteer recruitment, communication, and engagement. · Support outreach events through planning, logistics, and on-site coordination. · Use and maintain basic administrative systems, including scheduling, reporting, data entry, and file management. · Collaborate with staff across departments, including ReStore operations, Construction, Development, Family Services, and Administration. · Apply professional communication and customer service skills in a nonprofit environment.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a consistent work schedule and notify the Outreach Manager of any changes.
- Be available on occasion to assist with weeknight or weekend events as needed.
- Dress appropriately and represent MAHFH positively and professionally.
- Perform work assignments efficiently, accurately, and with attention to detail.
- Attend key meetings, planning sessions, and training as appropriate.
- Assist the Outreach Manager in the various functions of the Outreach Department, including responding to inquiries, volunteer recruitment, communications, and report preparation.
- Support outreach events, including preparation, logistics, setup, and follow-up.
- Perform data entry, filing, and administrative tasks to support volunteer and outreach tracking.
- Provide support to the Family Services Manager through organized file management, front desk coverage, and other essential administrative duties.
- Learn about and assist other departments when needed, including office management, executive administration, ReStore operations, and construction.
- Maintain confidentiality as directed by the supervisor or department heads.
- Participate in regular check-in and review sessions to assess progress and learning.
- Complete any school-required assignments or evaluations related to the internship.
