The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our Finance team.  This role will  play a key role in ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payroll across the organisation. The Payroll Officer assists with Award/agreement interpretation, resolving pay scenarios across a diverse (including remote/global) workforce, and driving payroll process and system improvements in line with legislation changes and internal controls. Your New Role:

  • Process fortnightly payroll for 1,500 employees (office and remote workforce)
  • Maintain employee payroll and leave records
  • Support payroll reconciliations and reporting activities
  • Respond to employee payroll enquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist with processing payroll changes, including new starters, terminations, and employee updates
  • Ensure payroll data is entered accurately and maintained confidentially
  • Support month-end payroll activities and related administration
  • Contribute to payroll process improvements and team initiatives
  • Work closely with HR and Finance stakeholders to ensure payroll accuracy

Who We Need:

  • 1-3 years of proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing
  • Exposure to payroll systems and processes
  • Intermediate Excel skills and confidence working with spreadsheets
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Good organisational and time-management skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Eagerness to learn and develop payroll expertise
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally
