The People+ Business Partner is responsible for leading the delivery of People+ priorities across the Canada business, ensuring both strategic alignment and operational excellence. Acting as the primary People+ partner to business leaders, this role provides guidance, coordination, and direction across all core HR processes.

This role operates as the day-to-day People+ lead for Canada, ensuring alignment of priorities, consistency in execution, and high-quality delivery across the People+ function. Through strong influence and collaboration, the role drives accountability, supports leaders, and ensures People+ practices are pragmatic, compliant, and aligned with business needs and global frameworks.

The incumbent is expected to demonstrate a strong service orientation, consistently role model the company’s values, and act as a culture ambassador, fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace across all interactions. 

Responsibilities

Business Partnership & Advisory:

  • As a trusted advisor to business leaders, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness.  Ensure People+ practices align with business objectives.

 

People+ Operation & Delivery:

  • Oversee and coordinate day-to-day People+ activities across recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and total rewards, ensuring consistent and high-quality execution

 

Performance Management & People Review:

  • Lead and coordinate the annual performance management and People Review processes.  Ensure effective planning, calibration, and execution in alignment with organizational standards and timelines.

 

Team Coordination & Functional Leadership:

  • Provide direction, prioritization, and coordination to the People+ team through a dotted-line leadership model.  Drive alignment, accountability, and collaboration without direct reporting authority.

 

Employee Relations & Compliance:

  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and compliance with employment legislation.

 

Program & Cycle Management:

  • Oversee key People+ cycles including engagement surveys, workforce planning, and other core HR programs, ensuring effective execution and follow-through.

 

Global Initiatives & Change Management:

  • Support the implementation of global People+ initiatives and transformation programs, ensuring effective local adoption and alignment.

 

Data, Insights & Continuous Improvement:

  • Leverage HR data and insights to identify trends, improve processes, and enhance People+ effectiveness across the business.

 

Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Acts as the primary People+ point of contact for the Canada business
  • Provides functional leadership and coordination across the People+ team
  • Builds strong, trusted relationship with business leaders and stakeholders
  • Promotes a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team environment

Qualifications, Experience and Educational Requirements

 

Work Experience:

 

  • Seven (7) - ten (10) years of progressive experience in Human Resources
  • Strong experience in business partnering and operational HR delivery
  • Experience working in a matrix or global environment is an asset

 

Skills and Competencies:

 

  • Strong ability to influence and lead without direct authority
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Strong problem-solving ability and sound judgment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices
  • Data-driven with the ability to translate insights into action
  • Strong communication, coaching, and facilitation skills

 

Education:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • CHRP designation or equivalent is an asset

 

Working Conditions
