Job Title:  Pharmacist-Part Time

Division:  Molecular Virology and Microbiology

Work Arrangement:  Onsite only

Location:  Texas Medical Center, Houston, TX

Salary Range:  $24,890.60 to $29,283

FLSA Status:  Nonexempt

Work Schedule:  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Summary

 

This position will support a high-volume clinical research environment involving multiple concurrent protocols and investigational products.  Work within a specialized research pharmacy setting supporting vaccine and infectious disease clinical trials,  and collaborate within multidisciplinary study teams in a fast-paced research environment.

Job Duties

  • Performs study-related pharmacy activities under the direction of the Principal Investigator, ensuring adherence to protocol requirements, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and regulatory standards.
  • Manages investigational products (IP) across the full lifecycle, including ordering, receipt, storage, inventory, preparation, dispensing, monitoring storage conditions, and disposal in accordance with sponsor and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and audit-ready documentation of investigational product accountability, pharmacy binders, and study records, ensuring compliance with institutional, sponsor, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures proper handling, preparation, and dispensing of investigational products, including maintaining required environmental controls and adherence to applicable standards (e.g., USP <797> when applicable).
  • Collaborates with investigators, study teams, sponsors, monitors, and regulatory agencies to support study execution, including participation in study trainings and monitoring visits.
  • Manages protected health information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree from an accredited school of Pharmacy.
  • Experience: None required.
  • Current licensure from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Research pharmacy experience.
  • Sterile compounding experience.
