Optus is an Australian telecommunications company, delivering more than 11 million services to our customers every day across mobile, broadband and digital solutions.
We're looking for a Portfolio Planning & Performance Analyst to join our Consumer Planning team. In this role, you'll be at the heart of data-driven decision-making — maintaining portfolio visibility, supporting planning and governance processes, and helping shape the strategic direction of the Consumer division. Working closely with our Planning and Governance Team, you'll turn data into insights that matter.
What You'll Do
- Collate and analyse portfolio data from multiple sources (JSW, Jira Align, Confluence, Excel, Power BI) to support reporting, planning and performance activities, producing dashboards and visualisations that highlight performance, capacity, risks, and trends.
- Support the execution of AOP and quarterly planning cycles, including data capture, performance metrics, and stakeholder coordination.
- Track initiative milestones, dependencies, and deliverables on an ongoing and fortnightly basis, escalating risks and issues as required.
- Prepare governance forum packs, agendas, minutes, and action trackers; maintain key artefacts including RACI matrices, RAID logs, and compliance documentation.
- Act as a point of contact for initiative owners, delivery managers, and cross-functional stakeholders seeking planning and performance information — including coaching and uplifting their reporting capability.
- Proactively identify and implement improvements to reporting, data quality, and tool utilisation, while continuously enhancing ways of working across the Consumer division.
What Makes You Perfect for the Role?
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data, identify trends, and present insights clearly.
- High proficiency in Excel, Atlassian, Power BI, JSW, Jira Align, and Confluence.
- Experience with AI agents is highly desirable!
- Ability to operate at scale in Projects or Programs.
- Excellent attention to detail with high standards for accuracy and data quality.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Understanding of portfolio management, planning, and governance principles (or willingness to learn).
- Experience in telecommunications, transformation, or PMO environments.
