PreProduction Engineer

Purpose

This role supports the production process, following all standards and procedures established by the Engineering Manager, Department Manager as well as corporate guidelines and is also responsible for running test packages.

Key Missions

Provides 1st and 2nd line technical and fault support for the production team

Provides technical advice and support to non-technical or non-production teams

Creates, manages and maintains machine configuration and job set-ups

Supports in the installation of software, software updates, hardware and operating systems for industry machinery

Supports IT teams with installation of new machines (networking, computer install etc.)

Delivers production solutions through design, testing, proving and go-live in control and within the right timing

Runs test packages and supports in running unit tests (SIT, UAT, First Off) with production teams

Designs and samples process for different machines

Delivers technical and process improvements for production and pre-production systems

Supports with New Product Industrialization (NPI) for local, global or central projects

Supports in validation of new system software

Works closely with the maintenance team to provide support on software and hardware

Monitors and maintains process parameters according to defined standard

Prepares reports on production metrics such as time between failures and machine uptime

Documents production issues, such as errors made by workers or problems with machines

Creates and maintains a knowledge base of known support issues and resolutions

Faces problems that are typical of a routine nature, but may at times require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures

Communicates information that requires some explanation or interpretation

Works under moderate supervision
