Process Engineer
We at Yara are part of a global network, collaborating to profitably and responsibly solve some of the world's key challenges - resource scarcity, food insecurity and environmental change.
About the Unit
Shape the future of reliable and high performing production
At Digital Enablement, we believe that operational data combined with digital technologies can fundamentally improve the reliability, efficiency, and safety of industrial production.
We are building the Yara Digital Production Platform (DPP) – a scalable foundation that provides consistent, high quality access to production data across our global production sites.
On top of DPP, we design and deploy robust, user friendly digital products that help engineers and operators make better decisions every day. Our unit owns the end to end impact of these products: from defining product direction and priorities, through development and deployment, to realizing measurable value at the sites.
We are now looking for a Process Engineer to join our team, with the position based in Porsgrunn, Sluiskil, or Brussels, and working closely with production sites.
Responsibilities
As a Process Engineer in Digital Enablement, you will work at the intersection of production engineering and digital analytics, turning operational data into practical insights that improve reliability and production performance.
You will:
• Work closely with production sites and discipline engineers to identify opportunities for improved reliability and performance
• Analyze live and historical production and equipment data to develop clear, actionable recommendations for day to day operations
• Use expert monitoring tools and your own Python scripts to support continuous production and equipment monitoring
• Review monitoring, analytics, and anomaly detection outputs together with site engineers and translate findings into practical operational guidance
• Support the implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement of monitoring and analytics solutions at production sites
• Act as a technical sparring partner between digital teams and site engineers across locations
Profile
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. process engineering, industrial automation, reliability engineering) and at least 3 years of professional experience in engineering or a similar technical role
• Proven ability to analyze production and equipment performance data and translate insights into actionable recommendations
• Hands-on experience using Python to develop and apply data analysis scripts
• Strong interest in digital monitoring, industrial analytics, and anomaly detection
• Curious, pragmatic mindset with the ability to quickly understand production processes and solve real-world reliability challenges
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines, sites, and cultures; fluent English required, additional languages are a plus
Why join us?
• Make a direct, visible impact on production reliability, efficiency, and safety
• Work end to end on digital products – from idea to value realization at the sites
• Combine deep process engineering knowledge with modern digital and data driven approaches
• Collaborate internationally with passionate engineers and production teams
• Be part of shaping how digital solutions support industrial operations at scale
Additional Information
If you are excited about improving production performance through data, collaboration, and pragmatic engineering, we would love to hear from you.
