Position Summary The Product Owner Specialist is responsible for leading two core squads within our fintech platform: the Payments Squad, focused on PIX infrastructure and transaction processing, and the Middleware Squad, responsible for bridging payment capabilities with merchant integrations and client-facing data delivery. This is a highly technical Product Owner role. The ideal candidate combines strong product management expertise with deep technology fluency — capable of understanding how APIs and systems work under the hood, challenging engineering decisions, and ensuring that product solutions are robust, scalable, and well-integrated. The role requires someone who is equally comfortable discussing business priorities with stakeholders and diving into logs, queries, and system behavior with the engineering team.

Key Responsibilities Payments Squad – PIX Product Ownership • Own the product backlog for PIX-related features, ensuring priorities are aligned with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and technical feasibility. • Translate complex payment flows and business rules into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications. • Actively participate in technical discussions, challenging the engineering team to pursue the best implementation path. • Ensure all PIX product developments comply with Banco Central do Brasil regulations and applicable security standards.

Middleware Squad – Integration & Client Connectivity • Own the product backlog for the Middleware Squad, responsible for the layer that connects payment deliverables to merchant integrations and client data consumption. • Define how clients receive, consume, and integrate with information produced by the Payments Squad. • Ensure seamless API design and integration standards that support scalability and ease of adoption by merchants and partners. • Work closely with commercial, operations, and technology teams to ensure integration flows meet client expectations and business requirements.

Agile Product Development • Drive sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews across both squads. • Ensure engineering teams have full clarity on requirements, expected outcomes, and acceptance criteria before development begins. • Balance priorities across two squads, managing dependencies and delivery risks proactively.

Technical Collaboration • Collaborate deeply with engineering teams on system architecture, API design, microservices, and platform dependencies. • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana and Kibana, and data visualization platforms such as Metabase, is considered a strong differentiator for this role. • Act as a bridge between business needs and technical implementation, ensuring both sides are aligned and well-informed.

Stakeholder Management • Serve as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders, engineering teams, and product leadership for both squads. • Communicate roadmap progress, priorities, and delivery updates clearly and proactively. • Align cross-functional teams including Technology, Compliance, Risk, Operations, and Commercial.

Data & Performance Monitoring • Define and track product KPIs including transaction success rates, integration adoption, system performance, and client satisfaction. • Use data-driven insights to continuously improve product decisions and backlog prioritization.

Continuous Improvement • Stay current on PIX ecosystem developments, Banco Central regulations, and fintech innovation. • Promote a culture of product excellence, iterative improvement, and technical rigor within both squads.
