Your Role:

As the Production Engineer for the Klebosol plant, you will be the operational user of new plant in Kaohsiung, Taiwan including but not limited to BOM and work order documentation management, process parameters and control, production people management, material management, personnel training, and workplace safety. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. People Management & Daily Operation

    • Organize and manage daily production activities
    • Support work orders and production schedules based on the production plan.
    • Establish and follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure the production of high-quality product, within planned time and w/o miss-operation.
    • Handle urgent issues and provide feedback and solutions to operators' questions.
    • Indirect materials management
    • Skill matrix management, labor shift arrangement
    • 6S management
    • Annual production equipment maintenance

  2. Production Process Transfer

    • Familiar with the production process of Silica Slurry, including reactors, SIA columns, purification, and packaging lines and support production process transferring from LM, France & MT, US.

  3. Training and Team Forming

    • Serve as a seed coach and subsequently lead the recruitment efforts to build and shape a fully functional production team.

  4. Process Improvement

    • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Use Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to optimize production operations.

  5. Workplace Safety & Health Promotion

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal environmental, health, and safety regulations.

 

Collaboration:

You will interface with:

  • Managers and employees at the Klebosol plant.
  • Project team members, including the Jade Engineering and Operations teams.
  • Cross-functional teams within Merck.
  • Procurement teams.
  • Vendors and suppliers related to engineering tasks.
  • Managers and employees at the Klebosol plants in the US and France.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in the chemical industry.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Language Proficiency:  English is required for effective communication, enabling discussions with engineers at our other plants and technical leaders in the US and France.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in production technology transfer or scaling manufacturing processes.
