Overview of the Role:

Project Manager manages, administers and is responsible for the delivery of the projects through various delivery methods.

Key Accountabilities: 

• Lead project portfolio with full hands on projects
• Manages and develops a project delivery team that understands the implications of different technical solutions, is proactive and service-driven for the operation of both network – Doha Metro and LRT
• Provides strategic direction, planning, and managing the development & implementation of policies, procedures and work instructions for aligning the department's operations to the committed performance targets to ensure operational efficiency and performance.
• Manage the performance and scope of the project to capture the intended business values and be accountable for delivering results
• Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
• Develops, maintains, and revises proposals for assigned projects including project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, timelines, funding, training / development and staffing.
• Coordinate with all internal (E&M, procurement, PTW, etc…) and external stakeholders
• Monitor and manage project activities and resource workload to ensure quality and timely delivery of project within budget.
• Track project milestones, deliverables and KPIs whilst ensuring lessons learnt are adopted consistently in line with RKH’ continuous improvement philosophy.
• Perform risk management and identify mitigation plans to reduce the risk impact.
• Evaluate performances of vendors providing services.
• Gathering functional or technical specifications where required.
• Prepare monthly project status reports for stakeholders and executive summary for project governance committee.
• Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations to the client in line with Head of Maintenance and the Head of Project Delivery requirements.
• Manage the delivery of key work packages for allocated projects across both Network, from planning to handover, and all intermediate phases.
• Ensure all projects deliverables meet safety, time, cost, quality, scope, and other planned objectives consistent with RKH delivery commitments.
• Prepare and manage budgets, schedules and performance reports for stakeholders.
• Prepare project briefs, provide appropriate direction to facilitate the early resolution of issues, and fulfil the role of the RKH Representative in select meetings.
• managing the administration and delivery of professional services and internal delivery.
• Coordination of track replacement works and activities between stakeholders.
• Conduct project review meetings and issue minutes of meeting with clear action items for responsible stakeholders.
• Successfully manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
• Provide appropriate regular management reporting to the Head of Project Delivery, Project Sponsor, the client Qatar Rail and other stakeholders reflecting key risks and issues, performance and progress towards objectives

Skills and Experience:

• Significant experience in delivering projects in an O&M, service-driven, complex environment.
• Solid knowledge of Metro & Light Rail operations
• Able to both lead and take a hands-on approach to projects
• Able to see things from a “big picture” perspective
• Manages teams effectively
• Results-oriented
• Proactive; takes initiative
• Able to persuade and influence
• Determined and displays tenacity
• Ability to time-manage, set priorities and work to strict deadlines
• Team player - within own team and across the whole organisation
• Degree in relevant subject. Equivalent work experience will be accepted
• Recognised certification in Project Management preferred
