JOB DESCRIPTION:

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The role acts as the technical authority for automation and AI solutions within Direct Purchasing Rail. The position bridges business requirements and technical implementation by translating operational needs into scalable automation and AI architectures. Working closely with business stakeholders, IT, and external development partners, the role ensures that solutions are technically sound, future-proof, and aligned with the long-term AI strategy of Direct Purchasing Rail.  

 

YOUR TASKS

  • Take technical ownership for the operation, maintenance, and continuous enhancement of RPA, AI, and automation solutions within Purchasing
  • Ensure stable and reliable operations by managing incident resolution, root cause analysis, user support, and continuous optimization of existing digital solutions
  • Translate business requirements into technical solution concepts and coordinate the implementation with internal IT and external development partners
  • Evaluate, introduce, and govern new technologies in the areas of SAP, RPA, AI Agents, APIs, Document Intelligence, and Process Mining
  • Support the transformation from traditional rule-based automation towards intelligent, agent-based AI solutions, ensuring scalability, operational excellence, and long-term business value

 

YOUR PROFILE

  • Degree in Information Technology, Business Informatics, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Experience in automation, system integration, digital transformation, or solution architecture
  • Exposure to business processes in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Hands-on knowledge of UiPath or comparable RPA platforms, SAP ERP / SAP S/4HANA, APIs, and integration technologies
  • AI Agent concepts and orchestration frameworks, Azure Cloud and AI services and workflow automation platforms is a plus
  • Strong technical curiosity and systems thinking
  • Outstanding communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences - ability to bridge business and technology
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent English
