Compensation Data

The pay rate for this position is $28.50  per hour.  Kerry offers a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, Employee Share Plan, Life, disability, and accident insurance.  This job posting is anticipated to expire on 10.20.2026

1st Shift Role -  Monday through Friday.  Some flexibility on hours but will need to be working during core hours  9 am to 2 pm

What You'll Do

Role Description

We have a QA Specialist position in Melrose Park, Illinois. Kerry has over 41 sites across North America. Our Melrose Park facility plant is part of the Meat division business, and has over 150 employees. This site is growing operations and investing capital in improvement projects. We are looking for someone comfortable working on a day shift and flexible to work some weekends/holidays if necessary. Some of the responsibilities include:

•  Monitor and approve positive release of completed materials in SAP.

•  Input calibration data of Lab equipment and monitor compliance.

•  Input results of environmental monitoring and micro sampling

•  Join KPI calls as required.

•  Monitor COA output and provide COAs to customers when required.

•  Product testing – perform all lab testing procedures required and complete data entry into the SAP system.

•  Assist in preparing hold reports and tag the product as needed.

•  Calibrate lab equipment.

•  Retain samples, organize and label retain samples. Maintain records.

•  Be available for further training as may be required by Company.

•  Carry out other such duties as may be required by Quality and Quality and Technical Manager.

•  Responsible for Environmental Monitoring Program. Takes swabs, analyses results from third party micro labs and follow up on microbiological positive results with investigation and corrective actions.

•  Takes part in completion of Quality departmental improvement plans/projects.

•  Follow mandatory Plant policies and procedures: GMP, HACCP, allergens control, safety.

•  All other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need To Succeed

Qualifications and Experience

•  The successful candidate must have at minimum a College diploma or BS degree in Food Safety, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology or any other related field of study, or equivalent experience in the field.

•  3+ years of relevant quality experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred

•  Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail, good communication, and time management skills.

•  HACCP and PCQI are a plus but not required.

•  Must be able to troubleshoot problem(s) to develop corrective solutions.

•  Must be computer literate (Microsoft office)
