The Role & Your Impact
As an R&D Chemist, you will be capable of understanding the intricacies of a formulation developed in the laboratory to transfer and adapt the manufacturing method and the order of addition to a production environment. You will account for scale-up challenges before and after manufacturing to ensure success.
When manufacturing issues require intimate formulation knowledge, you will support rework activities within the production and quality control departments to ensure the product profile and regulatory compliance are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Innovation & Design: Design or redesign Ego products and identify new raw materials and their functions.
- Manufacturing Excellence: Develop manufacturing methods that align with Ego capabilities and oversee initial trial production batches.
- Technical Integrity: Investigate issues, analyse root causes, and provide technical recommendations to maintain product profiles and regulatory compliance.
- Production Partnership: Act as a technical bridge to the production and quality control departments, supporting rework activities and method validation.

Essential Requirements
- Experience: Proven experience in understanding complex laboratory formulations and adapting them for production scale-up.
- Compliance Knowledge: Ability to develop product dossiers and ensure formulations maintain regulatory compliance.
- Safety Leadership: A strong commitment to health and safety, ensuring all equipment and materials are handled safely.
Desirable Requirements
- System Knowledge: Previous experience using SAP and 3WS for BOM maintenance.
- Qualifications: Scientific degree or equivalent technical background in Chemistry.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience initiating BOM changes for SAP and 3WS and drafting manufacturing methods for production batches.
- Industry Awareness: An interest in competitor activity, including new products, ingredients, and advertising trends.
