Myth vs Reality — the front office season editionMYTH: “Reception is just smiling and handing out key cards.” REALITY: You are the first and last impression of the hotel. You manage arrivals, departures, questions, and day-to-day coordination — in an international environment. MYTH: “It’s basically an easy desk job.” REALITY: It’s structured and fast-paced. During peak times you handle multiple guest situations at once, stay organized, and keep the process smooth. MYTH: “Check-in is the only important part.” REALITY: You manage check-in and check-out, guest requests, basic administration, and daily communication with housekeeping and other departments. MYTH: “Guests are always relaxed because they’re on holiday.” REALITY: Most guests are happy — but some are tired, stressed from travel, or have problems that need quick solutions. You stay professional, calm, and friendly in every situation. MYTH: “If you speak English, that’s enough.” REALITY: English is required. German and/or French are a strong advantage because many guests feel most comfortable speaking their native language — and it makes you more effective at the desk. MYTH: “It’s repetitive and boring.” REALITY: Every day is different. Different nationalities, different requests, different challenges. You’ll coordinate with multiple teams and learn quickly how a hotel operates from the inside. MYTH: “You’ll have no life because you work too much.” REALITY: It’s real full-time seasonal work — yes. But after your shift, you’re in Greece. Warm evenings, beach sunsets, international colleagues, and a season that feels like a different world compared to home. MYTH: “Reception in a resort isn’t real career value.” REALITY: Resort reception is serious experience. You build communication skills, stress-resistance, operational understanding, and real hospitality confidence — in an international setting. Important: This position is based in Greece. You relocate for the full season and live where others spend their holidays. EU passport required. If you want a professional front office role with international experience — and you’re ready to spend your season in Greece — apply now and join our reception team.
