Job Overview

Monitors the requisition of the goods and services of the company, draws a comparison between the vendor prices, and purchases goods for one or more product groups.

Job Requirements

Ensuring that proper inventories are maintained. Seeking the highest value tradeoff between cost and quality.
Choosing the suppliers of the products, negotiating the lowest price, and awarding contracts based on established guidelines and procedures.
Keeping abreast of changes in the market affecting both the supply of and demand for needed products.
Studying sales records and inventory levels of current stock; seeking new, alternative foreign and domestic suppliers.

What your background should look like

Generally requires Bachelors degree in appropriate field with a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible professional level experience; Masters degree or higher or local equivalent may be preferred at this level
